AURORA, Colo. — An off-responsibility officer from the Aurora Law enforcement Department (APD) was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday night time, Chief Vanessa Wilson introduced on Twitter Monday.
Officer Mikaela M. Lakin, 25, was struck and killed in the crash at S. Aurora Parkway and E. Arapahoe Street, Wilson explained. Which is in east Aurora around the Tallyn’s Attain Library.
Police investigating the crash claimed Lakin was on a motorcycle heading east on Arapahoe and entered the intersection on a eco-friendly light. A Honda Pilot that was likely west on Arapahoe made a remaining flip, failed to produce to the motorcycle’s appropriate-of-way, and strike the motorbike.
The Honda’s driver stayed on scene and was treated for small injuries, APD explained.
Law enforcement mentioned that velocity was not a element in the crash, and neither were being medication or alcohol.
